"For years, I sat in various coffee shops, working on my laptop and envisioning the day that I could open my own community gathering space. As I would sit in these warmly lit, pleasantly smelling, modern day taverns I never gave much thought into what it was that I was drinking."

Looking back, I realize I wasn't just afraid of moving across the world or of the uncertainty I was leading my family into. I was afraid of who I'd become if saying yes to God changed everything—and it did.

The past year has been filled with hard work, new experiences, cultural adjustments, unexpected challenges, and many blessings. Our work here has been going well, and we have met some truly amazing people. We are incredibly grateful for the friendships that have developed, the students who have entered our lives, the conversations we have been able to have, and the many opportunities God has given us to serve.

Every August, Italy seems to press the pause button. At the center of it all is Ferragosto, the August 15 holiday that brings families together and sends millions of Italians to the sea, mountains, and countryside. Shops close, cities quiet down, and summer takes on a slower rhythm—reminding us that rest, family, and enjoyment are important parts of life.

Maybe we don’t need to know God’s entire plan before we obey Him. Maybe we simply need to do the next right thing—the thing He has already made clear. God’s Word may not show us ten years down the road, but it gives enough light for today’s faithful step.

A handshake won’t cut it in Italy—expect a friendly cheek kiss! Light, effortless, and charming, it’s the Italian way to say hello.

“Jesus I know. Paul I recognize. But who are you?” Acts 19 records a moment when a demon exposed seven religious men who knew the language of faith but didn’t belong to Christ. It forces a hard question most people avoid: Is your faith something you talk about… or something that actually runs your life?

If you’re worn out — spiritually, emotionally, physically — that doesn’t mean you’re weak or faithless. It might mean you’re human. And God hasn’t abandoned you in your exhaustion.

Baptism is not the finish line of faith—it’s the beginning. It is the moment when we surrender our lives to the Lordship of Jesus, trusting that what God promised, He will accomplish.

Italian superstitions may seem quirky, dramatic, or overprotective, but they’re part of the charm of everyday Italian life. They connect generations, spark playful debates, and add a layer of warmth and tradition to daily routines.

She truly was an amazing woman. She was a great friend. She was a great mom. She was a great Grandma. We hope that she is enjoying the beauty, the love, and the joy of heaven right now, and we can't wait until we see each other again.

Your Goliath may look different — but your God hasn’t changed. He is still able, still faithful, and still fighting for His people.
